Reuel "Moe" Todd was first elected Sheriff of Oswego County in 1998. He continues a 42-plus year law enforcement career, climbing through the ranks of Deputy, Sergeant, Criminal Investigator and Undersheriff with the Oswego County Sheriff's Office. As Undersheriff, he was active in the planning and construction of a new public safety building/correctional facility and played a pivotal role in getting the Sheriff's Law Enforcement Division accredited by the NYS Division of Criminal Justice Services. Since becoming Sheriff, his Office continues to adhere to high professional standards. The Office received law enforcement re-accreditation in 2014.
Education / Training
The Sheriff has received extensive training in law enforcement, corrections administration, and civil process and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy.
Honors and Achievements
Sheriff Todd has served the State Office of Public Safety as Chairman of the Counter-Terrorism Committee, Zone 7 and remains an active member serving on the Statewide Counter-Terrorism Executive Committee. He is active in numerous community programs. During 2007, he served as President of the New York State Sheriffs' Association, an organization in which he has been active for over 20 years and was elected as Vice-Chairman of the Executive Committee of the New York State Sheriff’s Association.
Sheriff Todd is married to the former Valerie Clark and they are the parents of two children and one granddaughter.
