Career
Michael Schiff began his law enforcement career with the New York State Police in 1977. He served as a Trooper assigned to the Wurtsboro, Ferndale and Liberty Barracks in Sullivan County. He was also a Canine handler and firearms instructor. Schiff spent the last five years of his career assigned to Governor Pataki’s anti-organized crime initiative at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York City. Schiff was elected in November of 2005 and is currently in his 4th term.
Honors and Achievements
His experience includes the 1979 prison strike, the 1980 Winter Olympics, the St. Regis Mohawk Crises, several assignments to the NYS Fair in Syracuse, several Woodstock reunions, the World Trade Center attack on 9/11 and the Republican National Convention in New York City.
