Conference on Victim Notification
April 5 @ 8:00 am - 4:00 pm
The 11th Annual Statewide Conference on Victim Notification will take place on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at the Radisson Hotel on Wolf Road in Albany, NY. Hosted by the NYS Sheriffs’ Institute, the conference takes place each year during National Crime Victims Rights’ Week. This year’s NCVRW theme is: Strength, Resilience, Justice.
Victim advocates and law enforcement officials gain a national perspective on Crime Victim Services, network with State and National Leaders in the fields of Criminal Justice and Victim Services, and learn about the latest advancements in victim notification services, including the VINE® Program and the Order of Protection Notification Project.
The VINE® program, administered by the Sheriffs’ Insitute, allows crime victims to learn the custody status of an offender, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, by telephone or online. Victims also can register to be notified if an offender custody status changes.
